Ten Times Longer . . .

I've been getting ready for our camping trip this week, and everything is taking ten times longer with Elijah underfoot. He loves to see what I'm packing, and thinks it's great fun to take everything out that I just put in! It was cute at first - he looks so happy when he's "helping" - but then it hit me that I'd repacked one camping tub three times and that's all I'd actually gotten packed the whole day!

Eli's also developed a bit of a disobedient streak (that's really too strong a word, but I can't think of anything else). If Mom says no, or that he can't play with something it pretty much guarantees that all he wants to do or have is that thing. And he's so tall now that he can reach up on to all the tables and the countertops - which means that nothing is safe! Ahh!

Between trying to pack, keeping Eli out of the things I already packed, keeping him away from the fan, the plant, the trash cans, and the phone (after our experience in the previous post), and making sure he doesn't injure himself when he gets in his mountaineering climbing mode, I was exhausted when Jon came home yesterday. Plus, Elijah has decided he doesn't want afternoon naps for some reason - which makes both him and mommy grumpy come 5 pm. I'm so ready to go camping and have lots of hands around to help Jon and I keep Eli busy (and hopefully out of trouble!). Now I just have to actually finish packing - I have a feeling this is going to be a long day!
