Put it away, Mom!

I'm still fascinated by being with Elijah every day and seeing how he learns and soaks everything up. And sometimes I'm surprised by the things he does too!

Last week I was vacuuming the downstairs and Elijah became convinced that the vacuum needed to be put away. He kept pointing to it and saying bye-bye and waving bye-bye to it . . . but Mom wasn't stopping! He then went over to the front closet (where the vacuum is kept) and pointed to it, waving bye-bye. Mom still wasn't stopping! So Elijah opened up the front closet, ran over to me vacuuming, pointed at the vacuum, said bye-bye and waved, and then ran back to the closet and pointed inside. I was so surprised! Not only that he knew where the vacuum went, but also at the progression of his actions as he tried to get me to do what he wanted. The art of communication without many words is being perfected by Elijah!

It is amazing how much they can communicate with so few words! Way to get your point across Eli!
